Job Description
Title: Field Operator II
Duration: 1 Year from start date
Location: Sarnia Terminal, ON (Field Position)
Hours: Shift work 38.77 hours per week. 12 hour shifts 5:30am / 5:30pm or 5:30pm-5:30am (3 on, 4 off, 3 on, 3 off. No night shifts for 6 months during training)

Primary Focus:
- Coordinates operations with Edmonton Control Centre personnel in the routing of deliveries and receipts to Client's and Sarnia Area refinery facilities.
- Performs required sampling and testing of crude oil to ensure that all measurement equipment is operating accurately.
- Performs all duties with a high regard for Safety and the Environment.
- Performs maintenance/housekeeping duties within Sarnia Area.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Measurement, testing and sampling of crude oil and Natural Gas Liquids. Performs and documents checks on all measurement devices at receipt and delivery meter manifolds and at Sarnia Terminal.
- Witnesses the proving of meters at client;s and Sarnia Area Refineries. Verifies meter proving reports for the acceptance of meter factors.
- Responsible for the accounting of delivery/receipt volumes in the Sarnia area.
- Responsible for the operation of the Sarnia Area master flow computer.
- Collects Quality Assurance Sampling (QAS), conducts testing and prepares samples for shipment to outside Laboratory. Conducts required checks on equipment and maintains logs.
- General housekeeping duties of Sample Lab, Terminal buildings and Sun Metering Building including the upkeep of gauging and sampling equipment.
- First responder for Tank Farm emergencies. Assumes responsibility of the Sarnia Terminal in the absence of local management.
- Tankage – performs routine inspections, level accuracy checks and annual tank bottoms survey.
- Performs other related terminal duties such as security checks, vehicle maintenance, etc.
- Responsible for integrity checks on Terminal equipment such as respiratory protection, gas detectors, fire extinguishers etc.
- Field environment
- Travel within the Sarnia area
- High School Diploma.
- Supplementary Technical education considered an asset.
- Completion of internal Measurement Training Course for Gauger’s position.
- Intermediate Computer Skills.
