Biological Harvest I

Shift: 1st shift- 6am to 230pm
Eggs are removed from an egg cold box and staged at one (B37) or two (B59) egg harvesting machine(s).
A loader will be responsible for unloading 136 egg trays from the egg cart into the harvesting machine at a quick rate per tray.
A candler will be responsible for inspecting the eggs at a quick rate per tray.
A filler will be responsible for replacing the reject eggs with good eggs.
After the eggs are de-capped, an inspector is responsible for inspecting the eggs at an inspection station.
Tray and cart washer functions:
Responsible for collecting, stacking and loading clean egg trays on to a cart then transport the clean trays to a staging area in a fast paced environment.
Responsible for removing clean egg carts from two cart washers and deliver carts to the inoculation area.
At times trays will be washed on the carts and these trays will need to be unloaded, stacked and stored in another cart then delivered to a staging area outside of harvest in a fast paced environment.
All areas have a rotation that will need to be followed which includes gowning requirements per cGMP procedures.
Responsible for disassembling and cleaning the harvest equipment at the completion of production.
Equipment utilized during cleaning:
Respirator
Bump cap
Knee pads
Tyvek jumpsuit
Goggles
Two pairs of gloves
Sleeves
When cleaning has been completed the equipment is reassembled for use.
All tasks are strictly timed and the operator is responsible for meeting the time requirements, in a fast paced environment.
Requirements:
Able to safely move carts on wheels which may weigh up to 800 pounds
Must be able to perform all physical requirements, including reaching, twisting, bending, squatting, repetitive motion, and lifting 30+ lbs.
Must be able to be on feet for entire 8-10 hour shift
Pass respirator fit test
Able and willing to work in a sterile environment, wearing scrubs, hair and beard covers, surgical mask, gloves and sleeves.
Able to follow directions and comply with cGMP Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Clean various machines before, during and after production
Basic computer skills
Hours for each position may vary.
All positions require employees to stay until a job is completed.
Every employee must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime if necessary.
Days off may not be consecutive and may vary from week to week (rotating schedule).
Working hours are subject to change based on production demand.
Employees may be required to take set days off in the middle of the week or work a rotating schedule.
All antigen positions involve the production of active viruses. While risk of exposure is minimal, vaccinations are required for all areas, including Flu, Menactra, and Yellow Fever pending area assignment.
Jewelry and makeup are not allowed on the floor.
Perfume, hairspray, cologne, aftershave and/or any scents are not permitted.
Artificial nails and nail polish are not allowed.
The attire includes (but is not limited to) sterile scrubs, hairnets, beard covers, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and in some areas Tyvek suits.
