Job Description:
The main function of a Sustaining Engineer is to provide expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems.
 
Job Responsibilities:

• Provides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems.
• Resolves highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research.
• Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
• Has extensive engineering knowledge and is considered an expert in one or more engineering specialties.
• Work independently to develop solutions for process and quality improvement.
• Modify existing programs to new standards and conduct unit testing of developed programs.
• Create migration packages for system testing, user testing, and implementation.
• Provide quality assurance reviews.
• Perform post-implementation validation of software and resolve any bugs found during testing.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, additional engineering disciplines as well as customer and user community.
• Developing requirements in response to customer operational needs and maturing operational concepts.
• Create briefings, white papers, and analysis to support the business capture.
• Proven track-record of developing and implementing affordable solutions.

 
Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering or related field required.
• 5-7 years experience required.
• Large systems software design and development experience.
• Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems.
• Experience in programming and experience with problem diagnosis and resolution.
