Position Title: Scientist 1
Work Location: San Diego, CA, USA, 92121
Assignment Duration: 6 Months
Work Arrangement: Onsite, 8AM – 5PM
Position Summary:
The Scientist 1 position is a crucial role in performing bench tests on glucose sensor functional characterization for reliability. This test-focused role will provide a first-hand experience with electrochemical test development on sensor functional performance for reliability assessment on the bench.
Background & Context:
The Membrane Test Team drives sensor functional testing for current and future sensor designs. We are part of the Advanced Electrochemistry R&D organization that provides innovative solutions in assessing and improving sensor performance to make a positive impact to our users every day.

Key Responsibilities:
- As Scientist 1, you will work on electrochemical tests on sensors on the bench and develop new tests to evaluate critical performance and reliability of functional elements.
- The primary responsibilities for the position are test bath and experimental setup preparation, performing tests on sensors using electrochemical instrumentation including a balance, a pH meter, a caliper, and a spectrophotometer, and designing testing experiments to evaluate test parameters.
- You will support test development by creating and refining specific procedures and establishing validity and reliability for the test methodology to ensure the test is effective and accurate.
- You will apply attention to detail with an analytical mindset to understand how critical test parameters affect test outputs. ·
- You will record and analyze data, communicate test results daily in spreadsheets and data summaries, and present progress on the test development to the team.
- You will draft and refine test procedures, prepare written reports, and analyze data for presentation.
- You will perform all assigned tasks with appropriate safety requirements.

- Wet lab experience
- Experience with testing using instrumentation in an analytical or electronics lab
- Technical writing and drafting test procedures
- Microsoft Excel, JMP is a plus
- Electrochemical test development on sensors
- Data Analysis and writing code for automation
- Electrochemical testing such as Cyclic Voltammetry
- Experience in sensor testing or development
- BS in STEM
