Position Title: Lab Technician I
Work Location: Eagan, MN
Assignment Duration: 12 Months
Work Arrangement: On-site

Position Summary: This position supports multiple divisions within our organization through accurate and efficient lab analysis.

Background & Context:

• This position is part of the team supporting multiple divisions within our organization.
• The job includes chemical and application testing such as cleaning evaluation, damage analysis and materials compatibility testing.
• Samples are delivered from customers sites, coordinated by field sales associates.
• Data accuracy, quality and speed of lab report turn around are key objectives for the department.

 

• Key Responsibilities:
• Providing routine lab analysis and technical support to the organization’s Sales and Service organization.
• Cross-training to develop the capability to support all the types of analysis required by the lab.
• Utilize the LIMS system for lab sample tracking and reporting.
• Provide clear and accurate data summaries and analysis.
• Completion of special project assignments to improve our knowledge base or upgrade the lab infrastructure.
• Updating and developing documentation for Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

 

• Qualification & Experience:
• Associate degree in chemistry, biology, or a related scientific field (open to new graduates).
• Basic understanding of chemistry, chemical safety and handling, and fundamental laboratory techniques.
• Proficient understanding of Microsoft Suite software including (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Soft Skills Required: Communication, Problem-Solving, Time Management.
• Education Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or a related scientific field.

 

• Preferred Skills: Experience with LIMS software or other laboratory sample and results management software; Other software familiarity is a plus (adobe, Hunter Labs, Imaging software); Demonstrates knowledge of our organization’s cleaning and sanitation products, and advance knowledge of our organization’s equipment design, function and installation procedures.
