Position Title: Associate Scientist/Scientist, Discovery Oncology
Work Location: South San Francisco, CA
Assignment Duration: 24 Months
Work Arrangement: 100% lab based, onsite role
Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated bench scientist to join Discovery Oncology and work as part of a target discovery and validation team.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform cell-based in vitro functional assays and utilize techniques such as cell culture, flow cytometry, and Western blot.

Generate, analyze and report data in an electronic notebook and to the team.

Work with talented colleagues, learn from industry experts, gain exposure to a research-driven enterprise, and apply passion, creativity, and knowledge to solve challenging problems.
Qualification & Experience:
-
B.S. or M.S. in Biological sciences.
-
BS with 6 years of experience or MS with 4 years of relevant experience within academia or industry.

Basic knowledge of oncology, immunology or related field.

Prior experience in mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, functional assays, and cell line engineering (CRISPR KO, viral transfection, protein overexpression).

Good laboratory practice.
Preferred Skills:
-
Western blot, ELISA, cell isolation from primary tissues.

Familiarity with FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, Excel.

Previous in vivo experience is a plus.
Software Skills:
-
Basic knowledge on data collection and analysis tools and computer applications such as ELN, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

Detail-oriented.

Highly motivated.

Able and eager to learn new techniques.
