Job Description

Job Title – Project/Program Manager II
Location – Seattle, WA
Duration – 6 Months
Job Description:

Responsible for the coordination and completion of project/program. Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project/program. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project/program. May require a bachelor's degree and 4-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

Business Group:
  • Team is economic development project management team
  • Secure incentives for the business (negotiating and security property and sales tax abatements for infrastructure regions)
  • A very busy team, very dynamic scope beyond incentive agreements there is a lot of work that is needed to do
  • Self-manage a lot of internal workflows, including approvals, tax sign off, finance sign off
  • An external facing function where they are articulating the value of investment
  • Prescence in these host communities around the US
  • Help manage hyper local engagement strategy
  • Lean team of 9 for entire US
  • A lot of different EDPM (Econ depth project managers) that are in different states, team travels significantly.
 
Key Projects:
  • A lot being worked on internally to streamline their workflows
  • Large effort on onboarding team to spreadsheets (need experience building out smartsheet)
  • Broader range of more general project manager functions (creating templates, centralized filing systems, taxonomy)
  • This contractor will work on operational program management piece
 
Day to Day (during ramp):
  • Take an audit of what is had internally (using at existing filing systems, looking at smartsheet and how its built out, spending time with different core team members)
  • Branching out to key partner teams to understand what their workflows look like
  • Identify what the pieces that are missing from PMO perspective
  • Help build out that broader framework
  • In the beginning will be spending time with a lot of individuals, diving into content that is had, and put the puzzle together.
  • Bringing program manager perspective.
Once Ramped:
  • Helping advance smart sheet
  • Ensure right view set up
  • Leveraging the right information
  • Being able to pull in data from other partner teams
  • Work with one of consultants to streamline other PM workflows
  • Establishing a new filing structure for the team
  • Drafting/pushing various templates for external/internal facing workflows
  • Developing training resources around smartsheet
Leadership Principle:
  • Bias for action – high velocity decision making
  • Earns trust – work requires a good rapport with team and partner teams 
YOE:
  • 4-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Smartsheet experience (at least 2 YOE) 
Resume Stand Outs:
  • Develop standardized templates or playbooks
  • End to end project work flows
  • Tracking systems
  • Smartsheet experience
  • Centralized management system that they created
  • Cross functional timelines
  • Automation experience (automate workflows)
Must Haves:
  • Project management software management experience and how it works
  • Technical writing – draft clear and concise documentation (emails/templates)
  • Building frameworks (create process mapping and optimization)
