Job Description

Position Title: CPD&D Laboratory Technician
Work Location: Indianapolis, IN, USA
Assignment Duration: 12 months
Work Schedule: 40 hours, 8am - 5pm
Work Arrangement: 100% site-based

Position Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for weighing discovery compounds for screening to enable the discovery, development, and launch of our organization’s crop protection pipeline.

• The Crop Health R&D Central Screening & Repository group at our organization are looking for individuals for our weigh team who can work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with HPLC analysis of materials (previous analytical experience desirable).
• Support routine sample preparation and characterization.
• Compliance with laboratory safety procedures.
• Be able to run and operate sample characterization instrumentation.
• Consistently applies sound scientific methods to solve technical problems.
• Assist with qualifying new active ingredient and raw material sources and supports shelf life date extensions for existing products.
• Check samples in - Maintain sample inventory.
• Weigh samples and maintain laboratory records.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
Qualification & Experience:
• Prior experience in research or manufacturing/engineering.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Experience in a chemistry lab is desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly articulate information and data sharing with stakeholders.
• BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry or related fields.
• Experience with the design and development of formulations is desirable.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and techniques. Knowledge of chemical & analytical skills and equipment setup is required.
• 2 years+ prior relevant experience working in a research or manufacturing/engineering laboratory environment is required.
• Understands and follows EH&S standards. Use of safety procedures & appropriate PPE mandated. Compliance with laboratory safety procedures.
• Must be able to work cross-functionally to deliver high quality support within timelines to meet project goals and enable decisions. Analytical purification experience is desirable, but not required.
• All activities are conducted in a team-based environment. The individual must interact well with others and be able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
• Must be able to build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
• Able to manage laboratory instrument upkeep, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication and prioritization skills; ability to effectively communicate in a team environment.
• BS in Chemistry or Biology or related STEM fields.
