Job Title: Accounting Analyst III
Duration: 1 year (with a possibility of extension)
Location: North York or Chatham, ON- hybrid (Mon, Tue, Thu in office)

Scope:

• The role is essential to the Cost of Gas team.
• There are several key month-end journal entries prepared by this position.

Specific Accountabilities:

• Preparation of month-end closing journal entries.
• Preparation of monthly accounts reconciliations and balance sheet analysis.
• Preparation of quarterly RRR schedules.
• Assist with maintaining, updating, and documenting internal control policies and procedures within the Finance Department.
• Ensure adherence to the Gas Cost key and non-key SOX controls.
• Work directly with internal, external, and SOX auditors during reviews and the quarterly/annual audit engagements.
• Provides support to the various regulatory proceedings, including the annual Earnings Sharing Mechanism application, Federal Carbon-related proceedings, as well as the rebasing application, including evidence preparation, drafting interrogatory responses, supporting deferral dispositions, and ad-hoc Regulatory requests for support.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (Required):

• University Degree.
• A minimum of 4+ years of technical accounting and analytical experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-oriented solving skills.
• Willing to work under pressure and some overtime to meet tight reporting deadlines.
• Team player, resul and attentive to details.
• Ability to work with a remote team.
• Proven excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excel skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience and knowledge of SAP, Oracle, and EPBCS.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance.
• Industry or regulated environment experience.
