Job Description:
Maintenance Material Coordinator
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Material Coordinator role acts as the interface between the business unit and procurement.
- The Material Coordinator interacts with Inventory, Vendors, Warehouse, Expediting, Buyers, Operations, Maintenance Coordinators, and Maintenance on a daily basis to coordinate material availability for maintenance work list items.
- Develop a strong understanding of SAP including Purchase to Pay processes
- Identify and coordinate the procurement of materials using SAP, including adding components to standing orders
- Support FLS with material requests for work list items.
- Initiate material requests for following scope: worklist, reg tag / hot shot, tools, and planned/scheduled (as needed)
- Manage PCard purchasing, tracking, and receipt
- Verify material availability for worklist standing orders and on as needed basis for planned/scheduled scope (T-1 to T-4)
- Coordinate with Warehouse Parts/ Materials and Kit and Stage, and tag materials by defined drop points
- Support Supply Chain with clearing materials from quarantine/ pass through
- Non-stock warehouse storage clean-up, optimization, and sustainment
- Optimize open bin inventory
- Initiate Repair and Return processes from Operations, Engineering, Maintenance/ identify R&R vendor, including shop visits as needed, and supply daily/weekly status’ of purchased/repairable/ fabricated materials
- Manage core return process
- Recognize material usage patterns and interface with PSD for modifications and/or new material codes for stock
- Coordinate and leverage after-hours purchasing processes
- Share material optimization learnings with Planning, Technical to support BOM enhancements
- Engage in applicable MOC’s to provide input on ordered materials tracking
- Coordinate with Warehouse Returns Coordinator to return surplus or stock materials not consumed in field to on-site/supplier inventory
- Continuously look to improve processes and activities for materials procurement, warehousing, supply chain activities
- Leverage GP Materials Team for ad-hoc parts analysis to support continuous improvement activities
- Liaison daily or as required with Operations Maintenance Coordinator/ Maintenance, Planning & Scheduling, Engineering and Warehousing materials planning and availability
- Implement touchpoint meetings as required with role
- Interface with Supply Chain and Warehouse Contractor for shipping and receiving parts, as necessary
- Interface with client Warehouse/ Expediting groups, as necessary
- Expedite material requests for FLS/others as needed
- Comply with business controls guidelines
- Develop daily report protocols of required materials for both on and offsite (Break In/Emergency, Projects, Base Business)
- 10+ Years Experience in Large Production Facility (Oil, Gas, Chemical, or LNG)
- Planning and Scheduling- SAP systems/ Prometheus/P-6
- Effective computer and data analysis skills
- Broad knowledge of all maintenance crafts is an asset (3-5 years Validated Craft Training designation preferred: M/W, Electrical, Instrumentation)
- Thorough working knowledge of Maintenance and Reliability practices
- Experience in Maintenance Execution Management (Lead/ Supervisory/OMC/PMC role)
- Strong knowledge of Materials Management Practices
- Ability to prioritize workload as necessary based on need
- Works well in a team
- Effective communication skills/ability to interface with personnel across all levels of the organization
