Job Description

Job Title: Instructional Designer, Training Curriculum Dev.
Location: Livermore, CA 94550 (REMOTE)
Duration: 5 Months with possibility of extension.
 
Notes:
  • Managers open to local and non-local candidates.
  • If chosen candidate is outside of client service territory including out of state, he/she, must use their own laptop for assignment.
  • There might potentially be opportunity and need to be on-site but not a mandated amount of time.

Job Description:
  • Perform assigned routine maintenance on courses and learning components in a variety of learning modalities.
  • Partner with Sr. Instructional Designer (SID) and clients to conceptualize training design and content.
  • Define learning objectives, course structure, learning content, and assessments.
  • Complete detailed analysis of existing content and each task to be trained.
  • Follow company standards, guidelines, and templates to develop learning materials including student and facilitator presentations and guides, activities, scenarios, and assessments.
  • Create instructional graphics, scenarios, interactions, simulations.
  • Write clear and effective instruction and facilitator text appropriate for the target audience.
  • Conduct virtual meetings with subject matter experts including task analysis, alpha, beta, and support answer validation meetings.
  • Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation. Receive and incorporate feedback.
  • Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables. Proactively communicate issues and risks.
 
Required Skills:
  • 3+ years’ experience developing instructor-led, eLearning, or virtual training in a technical environment.
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience developing training for the utility industry.
  • Experience with technical writing.
  • Strong knowledge of the ADDIE model, adult learning theory, and instructional design methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Articulate.
  • Flexibility to work on simultaneous development efforts, as needed.
 
Highly Desired:
  • Knowledge of Questionmark, Author-it, Honeycomb, learning portals.
  • Experience with technical training.
  • Comfortable and capable working on a High Performing Team.
  • Comfortable with working on a high-performing team with strong communication skills.
