Job Title: Flight Readiness Technician C 
Location: Charleston, SC 
Duration: 12 Months
 
 
Job Summary:
As a Flight Readiness Technician Inspector (FRTI) supporting the Client’s 787 Fleet, qualified candidates will verify and inspect routine final component installation and support system operational functional validation testing. FRTIs verify and inspect rework, modification, maintenance, and perform preflight and post-flight checks in preparation for aircraft delivery. Responsibilities include troubleshooting issues, ensuring proper maintenance and modifications, and contributing to delivery readiness—all within a flight line environment involving live aircraft. A strong commitment to aircraft safety and quality is essential.
 
Position Responsibilities:
  • Perform verification and inspection of flight component installation and operational testing of aircraft systems.
  • Inspect and verify troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and avionics systems to isolate mechanical or system faults; document faulty components.
  • Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections, as well as inspections of maintenance and modifications before delivery.
  • Support documentation of identified problems during operation and testing of deliverable products.
  • Verify accuracy of work performed and assist in the documentation process.
  • Perform system and subsystem pre-delivery inspections and aircraft maintenance checks.
  • Participate in planning details of assignments to meet operational objectives.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage work activities independently, with lead support.
  • Inspect, document, and create non-conformance records (NCRs) with minimal assistance.
  • Maintain all required certifications.
  • Exhibit Client Behaviors in all tasks and communications.
Note: This position requires 100% onsite work at the Client’s South Carolina (BSC) facility.
 
Compliance Requirement:
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements. A U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. This includes U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.
 
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Ability to work any shift, including days, nights, and weekends.
  • 3+ years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality inspection and/or auditing.
  • 3+ years of flight line operations experience.
  • 3+ years working in a team environment.
  • 3+ years using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • REQUIRED: Valid FAA Airframe & Power Plant license or signed FAA Form 8610-2.
 
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience on the 787 Program.
  • Awareness of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risks and procedures.
  • Experience in team leadership roles (formal or informal).
  • Proficiency with REDARS, PSDS, and BAC specifications.
  • Skilled in generating all types of Non-Conformance Records (NCRs) and Emergent Process Documents (EPDs), including:
    • NC, NCR, RGEN, PU, SAT, SRR, PU or RGEN Revisions.
 
Typical Education/Experience:
Typically acquired through a combination of:
  • High School diploma/GED
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience, or
  • Equivalent combinations (e.g., vocational school + 2 years, or Bachelor's degree, etc.)
