Software Engineer – Bot Detection & Traffic Management

Location: Sunnyvale CA -

About the Role

The Traffic Management Team at our Fortune 100 Technical Client is responsible for a critical software layer that accepts, filters, and routes all web traffic from the public Internet to its many websites. This software plays a vital role in:

  • Routing and managing traffic efficiently.

  • Detecting and blocking security threats such as bots.

  • Enabling businesses to launch new websites and expand into new countries quickly and securely.

Our team is launching new projects in Bot Detection to enhance security and innovation. If you have a passion for building high-performance software focused on best-in-class architecture, data processing, and security, this is the opportunity for you.

About the Team

We are developing the next generation of website traffic management software to protect customer experiences at scale. Our work is highly visible and instrumental in supporting record-breaking traffic volumes, including major events for client. If you love working with networking, data processing, security, and AWS technologies, you’ll thrive in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software solutions for traffic management and bot detection.

  • Improve quality, consistency, maintainability, performance, and security with every code commit.

  • Contribute elegant, practical solutions to complex technical challenges.

  • Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of engineering excellence.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.

  • 5+ years of experience programming with at least one software programming language.

  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and system scaling.

  • Experience mentoring, leading as a tech lead, or managing an engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
