Job Title: Globalization Technical Project Manager
Duration: 12+ Months
Location: 100% Remote
Job Description:
• The Globalization team is dedicated to extending the client's reach into international markets, building on our US achievements to provide innovative and exceptional experiences worldwide. We seek an enthusiastic technical project manager to enhance our dynamic team and contribute to the global distribution of the products!
• As a technical project manager, you will collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, including globalization engineers, localization project managers, localization quality program managers, localization operations managers, technology and language service providers, as well as product and source system engineers. Your role is crucial in ensuring our globalization tools effectively support the client ongoing international growth.
You will:
• Manage Phrase TMS and Orchestrator to enhance localization processes, including user management, system configurations, and troubleshooting in collaboration with the Phrase team
• Serve as the administrator, product manager, project manager, and user-acceptance tester for our proprietary TMS, addressing critical user issues and partnering with globalization engineers for bug fixes and feature enhancements
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess and implement the integration of third-party tools with existing localization tools to increase process efficiency, including Machine Translation (MT) or AI-enabled tools
• Utilize JIRA and other project management tools to define, implement, and oversee project requirements, workflows, plans, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies
• Write and maintain system and user documentation to ensure clarity and accessibility for all users
• Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders (Globalization subteams, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success) to promote localization best practices and advocate for technical improvements in the localization process
Skills:
• 2 years of experience in administering translation management system and troubleshooting, with a preference for Phrase TMS (formerly Memsource) - Must Have
• 2 years of experience in automating end-to-end continuous localization processes including API-based system integrations between source systems and TMS - Must Have
• Skilled in collaborating with engineering teams to maintain solutions or products - Must Have
• Capable of extracting unique user requirements and prioritizing key deliverables - Must Have
• Basic knowledge or experience on implementing Machine Translation (MT) or AI-enabled tools to improve localization operations
• Proven track record of delivering technical programs from inception to completion
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at conveying technical subject matter to non-technical stakeholders
• Experienced in establishing partnerships and driving workflow improvements across multiple teams
• Quick to learn new systems and enthusiastic about technical work
• An excellent team player in fast-paced and diverse work environments with evolving priorities
• Proactive, self-driven, and exceptionally detail-oriented
• Proficient in writing technical documentation
Even better:
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology for software development
• Knowledge of localization quality management program process and tools (distinct from localization QA testing)
• Multilingual capabilities beyond English
• Note: a lot of resumes might have localization project management experience. But if they do not also have the 4 must have skills mentioned above, then they are not the right candidates. Localization project managers are one of the users who use the localization tools. And this role administrates, integrates, and builds the tools (with engineers) for these users.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
