Job Title: Administrative Support
Job Location: Remote, Must have home enviroment setup to work remote including but not limited to internet access.
Duration: 12 Months
Shift: Monday – Friday 8a-5p (Remote position – Must be located in CST, PST, or MST)
Job Desription:
We are seeking Quality Improvement (QI) Chart Abstractors to support our Quality team. Our members and partners expect us to deliver high-quality care as measured by standardized metrics, and the QI abstractor will play an integral role in ensuring we are able to demonstrate the quality of care we provide. This role is essential in closing documentation gaps, ensuring data completeness, and driving overall care improvements.
Reporting to Quality Leadership, the QI Abstractor will conduct chart reviews, obtain external records, perform patient outreach, and submit attestations and appeals for quality improvement programs.In this role, you will take ownership of daily quality improvement tasks with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. Strong attention to detail, organization, and accountability are critical to success. You should be comfortable stepping up to challenges, driving improvement efforts, and building feedback loops to optimize workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Abstract clinical information from the client's EMR system
Perform retrospective chart reviews to abstract structured data and close documentation gaps.
Ensure data completeness by closing referral loops and conducting chart dives.
Conduct member outreach to collect medical record release forms and obtain historical medical records.
Provide logistical and administrative support for targeted improvement initiatives, including follow-ups on pending clinical services.
Keeps up with new specifications and changes.
Reviews charts and abstracts required data elements into a database.
Researches specifications and or other appropriate support groups when uncertain if documentation is acceptable
Keeps accurate list of cases abstracted and completed
Experience:
Candidates must have experience working in medical records or similar field. Will need to feel comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Experience making phone calls to patients, providers or different clinics to make sure to get the documentation needed to complete the files.
Minimum of 2 years experience in an ambulatory care setting
Basic computer. Microsoft skills.
Ability to read and understand the medical record and enter data into the database .
Must have good communication skills.
