Job Title: Laboratory Technician (CPD&D)
Location: Indianapolis IN USA 46077
Duration: 12 months
Shift Times: 8am-4pm

Job Description
1. Educational Requirement
s:
o BS in Science (Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or related fields) is required. Degree in some specific areas might be preferred for some positions (Example: CPDD areas where degree in chemistry or chemical engineering might be preferred).
2. Core Responsibilities:
o Laboratory Work: This position involves working in a laboratory setting, conducting experiments, handling laboratory equipment and it is 100% site based. Routine research laboratory specific activities might be different base on the different CPD&D area recruiting focus (Example: Formulation labs: Prepares formulation samples and tests for physical properties and assists with formulation preparation and characterization; Active Ingredient labs: small lab scale-up activities, support to manufacturing facilities troubleshooting, etc…)
3. Technical Skills and previous experience
? Lab Equipment and Techniques: This position requires familiarity with laboratory equipment and techniques. Knowledge of chemical & analytical skills and equipment setup is required.
4. Safety and Compliance:
? Adherence to Client's Safety Protocols: Understands and follows EH&S standards. Use of safety procedures & appropriate PPE mandated. Compliance with laboratory safety procedures.
5. Soft Skills:
? Communication and Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective documentation and communication of results, good organization skills, follow SOPs, and adhere to safety protocols, strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
6. Additional Responsibilities:
o Specific Tasks: Specific tasks might be defined based on the CPD&D area that will be recruiting.

Wanted: individual capable of working with insects, plant material, and nematodes while completing routine, highly detailed work. Previous laboratory experience preferred. Work environments vary throughout the day between laboratory, greenhouse, and insectary colonies. Strong culture of safety requires individuals to adhere to all safety and ergonomic standards. Extensive training in safety, ergonomics, and laboratory SOPs provided.
Basic tasks may include:
• Harvesting roots from soil
• Extracting nematodes from soil
• Preparing pots and planting soil-based bioassays
• Counting nematodes and insects
• Measuring root lengths and plant weights
• Assisting with seed treatments
• Clipping/thinning plants used in testing.
• Hands-on infesting of plant and artificial diet material with various (non-stinging, non-hazardous) insect species.
• Routine assay formulation using manual pipettes.
• Specialized assay application using hand sprayers and track sprayers.
• Laboratory maintenance (cleaning, restocking, etc.).
• Grading insect assays.
• Preparation of media used in entomology testing.
• Scribing for evaluators

Requirements:
-Self-driven individual that also works well in a diverse group setting.
-Flexibility to shift focus throughout the day as needed to meet customer demands.
- Willing to work independently and with a team as needed. Self-initiated and desire to
learn.
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Ability to follow directions and protocols
- Ability to stand in place for multiple hours per day
