Position: Business Analyst
Location: Chicago, IL OR Remote
Duration – 6 Months - with possible extension or conversion to FTE.
 
Job Summary

• Acts as a liaison between business clients, software development, and cross-functional teams.
• Helps document requirements by translating Department of Insurance–approved files into business and technical documentation.
• Supports multiple projects, depending on capacity.
• Advocates for business needs throughout the solution lifecycle, ensuring requirements are met.
• Develops business cases, user stories, and requirements documentation.
• Participates in test case creation and execution.
• Provides independent, detail-oriented, and well-organized analysis and documentation support.

 
Responsibilities

• Deliver requirements documentation and test cases with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate with IT and non-IT teams to ensure accurate business requirement delivery.
• Work on projects of moderate complexity and size, resolving routine and non-routine issues.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and proactively meet business needs.
• Assist with Agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog/user story management.

 
Skills & Tools
Required:

• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, detail-oriented.
• MS Excel, MS Word, Adobe (mandatory).

Nice to Have:

• Jira (or other requirement tracking tools).
• Agile methodology knowledge (ability to write user stories).
• Insurance industry experience (preferred); Finance industry experience also acceptable.

 
Experience
3–5 years of Business Analysis/System Analysis experience in large/complex environments.
Insurance industry strongly preferred. Finance industry also acceptable.
