Job Title: Maintenance Technician I
Location: Fremont, CA 94555
Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of extension depending upon business requirements and performance)
Schedule: Onsite M-F 8-5, willingness to take weekend hours if needed

Overview:
  • The Maintenance Technician is tasked with ensuring the proper functioning of various systems and equipment within a facility.
  • This position entails performing routine maintenance, trouble-shooting issues, and conducting repairs to maintain operational efficiency and safety standards.
  • The Maintenance Technician collaborates closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations and adherence to safety protocols.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and building systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and Repair: Diagnose issues with equipment and systems and execute re-pairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Implement and adhere to preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate and communicate with other departments to address maintenance needs and support overall facility operations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Engage with various vendors and property maintenance teams as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders when repair/maintenance requires coordination across multiple departments.
 
Qualifications:
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; vocational training or certification in maintenance or related fields is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance or related roles is essential.
  • Work Environment: Ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced multitasking setting.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in performing basic lab equipment maintenance, such as oiling pumps and defrosting cold storage units.
 
Preferred Experience:
  • Previous experience working in a clean room and under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is desirable.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems is advantageous.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional off-hours to accommodate functional lab/business needs.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effective collaboration with team members and other departments.
  • Computer Literacy: Fundamental computer skills are required.
