Job Description

Title: Accessioner I 
Location- 3825 Faber Place DR Charleston, SC 29405
Duration: 3 months 
Shift: 2pm to 10:30pm M-F
IV mode - onsite


TB SCREEN AND COLOR VISION SCREENING IS REQUIRED
VACCINE REQUIREMENT: HEP B – DECLINATION ACCEPTED


Summary:
The main function of an Accessioner is responsible for processing laboratory samples. They work with other laboratory employees to catalog patient specimens, like blood, urine, or tissue, for analysis. They mostly work with blood. Lab professionals carry out diagnosis and treatment based on the samples received.

Position responsibilities:
  • They will be working with bodily fluids.
  • Processing lab samples – packing and shipping duties, end of night must scan or image all req you have received.
  • Receives and triages all specimens for clinical testing.
  • Manages clinical information within LIMS database.
  • Performs internal audits of clinical charts.
  • Collaborates with various departments to ensure testing accuracy.

Required Skills:
  • Being able to lift up to 25lbs.
  • Should be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Must be able to type 45 WPM.
  • 1-2 years of experience
Preferred:
  • Would like someone that has prior lab experience.

Qualifications:
  • AS or BS degree in biological sciences preferred.
  • Data entry skills preferred. 
  • Proven attention to accuracy and deadlines
  • Proven ability to work well independently and within a team0-2 years of experience.
