Float Phlebotomist I
Location: San Antonio, TX
Worksite: 3903 Wiseman Boulevard and float locations within 10–15 miles
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, shifts between 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM
Position Type: Contract with potential for conversion to permanent
Training: 2 weeks
Summary:
The main function of a Phlebotomist I is to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages, perform patient registration, and process specimens accurately. The role requires at least one year of diagnostic phlebotomy experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Position Responsibilities:
Draw blood specimens from pediatric to geriatric patients.
Register patients using the designated system.
Perform patient registration and specimen processing.
Maintain accurate patient manifests and patient/specimen logs.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Provide patient-centered care and maintain professional communication.
Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Float between Patient Service Center (PSC) and In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) locations within a 10–15-mile radius.
Complete the required two-week training period.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of diagnostic phlebotomy experience.
Experience drawing blood specimens and registering patients.
Ability to draw blood from patients of all ages.
Ability to maintain accurate patient and specimen records.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable working in both PSC and IOP settings.
Preferred Skills:
Patient-centered care skills.
Diagnostic healthcare background.
Additional Requirements:
No specific certifications required.
Must pass a background check.
Color vision and THC screening are required
Must be comfortable with a schedule that may change weekly.
Must be willing to accept potential conversion to a permanent position.
Interview Process:
Onsite individual interview.
