The Auto Technician Apprentice works under the supervision of experienced technicians to learn the skills necessary to diagnose, repair, and maintain various types of vehicles. This entry-level position is designed to provide hands-on training while developing technical knowledge, safety awareness, and shop efficiency.
Duties/Responsibilities
Ability to fulfill general employment expectations including regular attendance and working specified hours or overtime as defined by supervisor, acceptance of supervision, getting along with others in the workplace, maintaining acceptable standards of office conduct, etc.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Vehicle Maintenance & Basic Repairs
- Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Assist with brake service, battery replacement, and basic component repairs.
- Inspect vehicles for wear and safety concerns.
- Support Senior Technicians
- Assist experienced technicians with diagnostics and more advanced repairs.
- Hand tools, retrieve parts, and help complete repair tasks efficiently.
- Follow instructions carefully and learn repair procedures.
- Diagnostic Assistance
- Help connect and operate diagnostic equipment.
- Learning to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
- Shop Maintenance & Organization
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Follow proper waste disposal and environmental guidelines.
- Safety Compliance
- The Auto Technician Apprentice is responsible for maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to all shop safety policies, procedures, and industry regulations. This includes conducting the necessary Safety Inspections, proper use of tools, equipment, and protective gear to prevent injuries and ensure the safety of all personnel.
- High School diploma or GED. Experience in the repair and operation of farm and heavy equipment is a plus.
- Understanding of Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and ability to troubleshoot and repair these systems. Excellent communication (written and oral) in English and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and provide input into team discussions and decisions. Computer skills. Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office Programs
- Ability to climb or work in elevated areas.
- Ability to stand/sit for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a team setting with others of diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to work outside in a tropical agriculture setting with year-round demand on fleet vehicles and farm equipment.
- Flexible to work extra hours during evenings, weekends and holidays during peak periods when required.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Hold a Valid driver’s license.
