Reimbursement Analyst
Location: Granger, Indiana (Hybrid Schedule)
Salary Range: $80,000 – $120,000 annually (based on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Reimbursement Analyst to join our healthcare finance team in Granger, Indiana. This hybrid role is ideal for a finance professional with a background in healthcare reimbursement who thrives in a fast-paced hospital or health system environment. The Reimbursement Analyst will be responsible for analyzing third-party payer reimbursements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing revenue recovery.
Key Responsibilities
Reimbursement & Revenue Analysis
Analyze payments from Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers to ensure accurate reimbursement
Identify underpayments and coordinate appeals or corrections
Monitor reimbursement trends and variances
Cost Reporting & Regulatory Compliance
Assist in preparation and review of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports
Ensure compliance with federal and state reimbursement regulations
Monitor regulatory updates and assess financial impact
Contract & Payer Analysis
Interpret managed care contracts and reimbursement methodologies
Model financial impact of contract terms and rate changes
Support managed care negotiations with financial data and analysis
Financial Reporting & Forecasting
Prepare reimbursement analysis reports for leadership
Support month-end and year-end close related to reimbursement revenue
Assist with audits and documentation requests
Collaboration
Work closely with revenue cycle, billing, coding, and finance teams
Provide guidance on reimbursement policies and procedures
Support process improvement initiatives to maximize revenue capture
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field (required)
Minimum of 2 years of healthcare reimbursement or hospital finance experience (required)
Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer reimbursement methodologies
Experience with hospital cost reporting preferred
Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a hybrid work environment
Preferred Experience
Experience within a hospital or health system setting
Familiarity with reimbursement models such as DRGs and APCs
Experience working with payer contracts and managed care agreements
