Our client, a respected and growing professional services organization, is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all financial operations and provide strategic leadership within the finance function. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on, analytical, and proactive financial leader who thrives in a dynamic, client‑driven environment.


About the Controller Position:

The Controller will manage the full accounting cycle, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support organizational decision‑making through strong financial planning and analysis. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of financial operations within a professional services setting.


Key Responsibilities of the Controller:

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including AP/AR, payroll, general ledger, and month‑end close
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and reporting
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Manage compliance with GAAP and internal financial controls
  • Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations
  • Oversee billing processes, WIP management, and revenue recognition
  • Coordinate audits and tax filings with external partners
  • Supervise and develop accounting staff, fostering a high‑performance team

Qualifications for the Controller:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Experience in the professional services industry (such as legal, consulting, architecture, engineering, or similar) strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, and reporting
  • Proven ability to manage complex financial operations and multiple priorities
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Experience with modern accounting software and ERP systems
