SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing construction organization. This role will be responsible for managing core accounting functions with a strong emphasis on job costing, WIP schedules, and project-based financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and a solid understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting.

OVERVIEW OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT ROLE:

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and analyze financial statements
• Maintain general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Oversee job costing and project cost tracking
• Prepare and review Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules
• Support revenue recognition under percentage-of-completion method
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate project financials
• Monitor cash flow and support billing processes (including progress billing)
• Assist with external audits and tax preparation
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction
• Strong knowledge of job cost accounting and WIP reporting
• Experience with construction ERP systems
