CONTROLLER

šŸ’² $125,000-$135,000

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead our client’s financial operations and support continued growth. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in public accounting along with private sector experience and be comfortable stepping into a leadership role. OVERVIEW OF THE CONTROLLER ROLE
• Oversee financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• The Controller will lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
• Manage and mentor the accounting team while maintaining strong processes and continuity.
• Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and third-party professionals to ensure compliance.
• Strengthen and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and improve reporting accuracy.
• The Controller will ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other statutory requirements.
• Prepare and present financial reports, analysis, and insights to senior leadership.
• Support financial planning initiatives, including budgeting, cash flow management, and forecasting.
• The Controller will oversee cost accounting, job costing, and project-based financial tracking, as applicable.
• Assist with strategic initiatives, including process improvements and potential M&A activity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE CONTROLLER
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and private industry.
• Prior experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, or construction industries preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations.
• Proven experience managing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
