About the Opportunity – Cost Accountant

Our client is seeking a strong Cost Accountant. The Cost Accountant will support inventory management activities across manufacturing operations, ensuring accurate cost standards, variance analysis, and inventory reporting. This role partners closely with operations and finance teams to review and improve cost visibility, support audits, and maintain strong financial controls.

Tasks & Responsibilities – Cost Accountant

• Prepare and maintain inventory and cost rollups, ensuring accurate standard costs across materials, labor, and overhead
• Review, analyze, and approve cost changes, ensuring proper documentation, controls, and alignment with operational data
• Perform inventory analysis, including variance analysis, reconciliations, and ongoing updates to supporting documentation
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to audit inquiries
• Utilize advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) to analyze large data sets and support cost reporting
• Work within ERP systems, with Oracle experience strongly preferred, to manage cost and inventory data
• Apply a strong analytical mindset, leveraging Power BI or similar reporting tools to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost improvement

Qualifications – Cost Accountant

• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting standards
• Proven understanding of how cost accounting impacts profitability, supply chain performance, and strategic planning
• High proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle strongly preferred) and Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy and compliance
