Financial Accountant

Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite)
Pay: $75,000 - $85,000
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (some flexibility available)
Dress Code: Business casual
Work Environment: Open cube/office setting

About the Company

Our client is a long-established global manufacturer with more than 100 years of history. They operate multiple manufacturing and warehousing facilities in Grand Rapids, along with additional locations globally.

The Financial Accountant supports core accounting operations including month-end close, reconciliations, tax support, and process improvements. This role works closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate reporting, maintain financial records, and assist with ongoing accounting initiatives and projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close activities

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations

• Support sales and use tax filings

• Respond to accounting inquiries and assist with special projects

• Provide accounts payable process support, including updating vendor procedures and workflows

• Help ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and accounting records

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of general accounting experience, including:

  • General ledger work

  • Journal entries

  • Month-end close

  • Account reconciliations

• Advanced Excel skills

• ERP system experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Manufacturing industry experience

• Sales and use tax exposure (highly preferred)

• Experience with Oracle and/or Power BI
