Job Title: Financial Counselor
Location: On Site in Lima, OH
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Salary: $18-$19/hour

Position Summary:
The Financial Counselor supports clients by assessing financial needs, verifying insurance, and ensuring accurate billing information. This role helps clients understand their financial responsibilities and assists with resolving billing or collections issues.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Counselor:

• Conduct financial interviews and determine eligibility for assistance programs.
• Verify Medicaid and commercial insurance; determine client responsibility and process payments.
• Maintain accurate financial records and update electronic health records.
• Review statements and manage collections as needed.
• Assist clients in resolving billing issues and act as a liaison with internal teams.
• Process failed claims and complete other assigned tasks.

Qualifications of the Financial Counselor:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in medical billing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong judgment, communication, and customer‑service skills.
