Job Description
Title: Scrum Master
Duration: 12+ months Contract
Location: Canada: Ontario, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal (100% remote in Canada)
Core Hours: somewhat flexible, but able to attend meetings and collaborate with team members between 8 am Pacific and 3 pm Pacific.
Summary
- We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to help us fulfil the mission of the organization which is to drive developer productivity, cross platform device independence and software platform consistency. As a valued member on this team, you will foster a collaborative, transparent, and high-performing team environment using the Agile framework. This role requires deep understanding of Agile/Scrum principles, hands-on experience running Scrum ceremonies, and proficiency with Agile project management tools like JIRA.
- The ideal candidate brings strong interpersonal communication, organizational awareness, and problem solving skills, as well as a keen focus on continuous improvement, team health, and delivery velocity. The role is in the Product Design and Manufacturing Solutions (PDMS) Platform division. This team defines and builds the software platform the Fusion 360 family of products is built upon.

- Bachelor’s degree, preferred in computer science, Engineering, or related field

Responsibilities
- Work as the primary scrum master for two related development teams.
- Provide mentoring for a junior scrum master on a third, smaller team on a closely related project.
- Coach the development teams in the use of agile techniques to match team capacity to commitments
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess the scope and define priorities to deliver features successfully
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage dependencies and alignment across sprints and releases
- Facilitate meetings (e.g., daily stand-up, backlog grooming, sprint planning, release planning, and sprint retrospectives), adapting processes as required to maximize each team’s success
- Guide product backlog refinement and estimation process to ensure commitments are achievable and tracked appropriately
- Remove team impediments and escalate when necessary to ensure team productivity and delivery
- Shield the teams from distractions
- Foster a cooperative environment, emphasizing open discussion, and problem-solving
- Ensure meeting artifacts are generated/distributed to communicate progress to stakeholders
- Facilitates or participates in improvement initiatives to bridge gaps between the Scrum teams and the broader organization
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years as a Scrum Master role working on medium to large-scale software development projects with multiple dependencies
- Experience working as a scrum master of two related development teams at the same time
- Experience removing impediments between development teams and experience design teams
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, able to lead discussions and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Strong hands-on experience of JIRA for quantitative/qualitative decision making and reporting
- Ability to manage expectations and execute with distributed teams
- Ability to coach/advocate at multiple levels (i.e., team members, product owners, management, etc.)
- Solid understanding of both the theory and application of Agile practices
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Proactive mindset with a bias toward action and ownership, self-sufficiency, working with minimal oversight
Preferred Qualifications
- CSM, SAFe Certification, or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- Familiarity with Design Systems
- Experience in using Figma, Confluence, and Slack
- Familiarity with software testing, tools, and best practices (e.g. Playwright, BrowserStack)
