Position Title: Associate Quality Control
Work Location: Thousand Oaks, CA, USA, 91320
Assignment Duration: 12 months (possible extension)
Work Schedule: Standard business hours, fully onsite, with occasional weekend work (4-5 hours, 1x/month on rotation)
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Position Summary
The Associate Quality Control role supports routine procedures and testing in the QC Microbiology Lab under general supervision. The ideal candidate will perform microbiological testing, maintain laboratory documentation, and operate specialized equipment while adhering to safety and cGMP guidelines. This entry-level position requires flexibility, teamwork, and a strong foundation in microbiology and aseptic techniques, with some training provided.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine microbiology laboratory procedures, including:
- Bioburden/Total Aerobic Microbial Count
- Biological Indicator testing
- Growth Promotion testing of microbiology media
- Container Closure Integrity
- Media Fill inspection
- Document, compute, compile, interpret, and enter data into Laboratory Information Management Systems
- Maintain and operate specialized laboratory equipment
- Comply with safety guidelines and cGMPs/CFRs, including maintenance of training records, laboratory documentation, written procedures, building monitoring systems, and laboratory logbooks
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and safety guidelines
- Evaluate documentation and data according to company and regulatory guidelines
- Organize work, handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills
- Maintain attention to detail and adapt to changing priorities and requirements
- Understand regulatory requirements, safety guidelines, and factors impacting compliance
- Escalate issues appropriately when necessary
- Identify, recommend, and implement improvements related to routine job functions
- Education/Experience:
- High school/GED with 2 years of work or military experience, OR
- Associate’s degree with 6 months of work or military experience, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, or a related life science (preferred)
- Skills/Competencies:
- Prior exposure to aseptic techniques, sterile methods, or cleanroom practices
- Hands-on microbiology lab experience, including handling cultures, testing, or related procedures
- Strong motivation, flexibility, and ability to work independently and in teams
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective written and oral communication skills
