Job Title: Service Technician I
Duration: 12 months (10/06/2025 – 10/02/2026)
Location: Elgin, IL 60124 (Onsite)

Experience: Preferred 1–3 years; will consider candidates with less experience if they hold a technical degree/certification

Job Overview & Requirements

• Configure, test, and ship sophisticated telecommunication equipment.
• Set up and configure Windows computers, servers, and networking devices.
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for 8 hours (or more if working overtime).
• Moderate Windows/Google computer skills; ability to read/enter data as required.
• Ability to read build and configuration documentation.
• Quality and safety conscious with strong focus and attention to detail.
• Good attendance record; must be able to work 40+ hours weekly (including weekends and overtime).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Quick learner with ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to rotate between various positions within the organization based on business needs.
• Must wear steel-toed shoes.

Responsibilities

• Staging and configuring servers, switches, and firewalls.
• Programming and debugging scripts to enable staging operations (a huge plus if a full-time position becomes available).
• Communicating and working cohesively with the Development Organization.
• Debugging issues related to sales orders and helping rectify them.

Key Contributions (First 90–120 Days)

• Train to stage servers, workstations, and switches.
• Develop working relationships with the team and Development Organization.
• Communicate daily progress to the Team Lead and Management.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Technically proficient in basic computer skills.
• Experience with networking equipment (Cisco and HP is a plus).
• Scripting knowledge: Basic debugging of automation scripts is a plus.

Work Environment

• Work Environment: Factory environment.
• Lifting Requirements: Occasionally lift 15–20 lbs (must consistently lift up to 50 lbs as per core duties).
