Job Overview
You will play a crucial role in evolving and standardizing our creative guidelines and visual identity for Client’s Essentials imaging. This position will be instrumental in shaping how our brand comes to life through photography and digital presentation. The Art Director will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure brand consistency and elevate our visual standards across all ecommerce Client’s Essentials imagery. This role reports directly to the Creative Director.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive imaging guidelines, including mood, facial expression, hair/makeup, posing, and technical specifications for lighting and composition to ensure consistency across multiple studio locations.
- Create and document formal standards for background color modification and creative guardrails.
- Develop and conduct training programs for studio teams on new imaging guidelines, ensuring seamless adoption and execution.
- Refresh Customer Experience (CX) guideline documentation and partner with operations to build a scalable process for maintenance.
- Establish seasonal styling templates to maintain brand coherence throughout the year.
- Build comprehensive e-commerce brand guidelines in partnership with the Brand team that align with and complement existing editorial standards, creating a unified visual language.
- Conduct end-to-end customer journey reviews to ensure content consistency and elevation across all touchpoints, identifying areas for improvement.
- Partner closely with brand, imaging studio, product, and CX teams to maintain high standards and brand alignment throughout the creative process.
Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in creative direction, with a significant focus on fashion and e-commerce.
- Proven track record in retail photography direction and post-production processes.
- Extensive experience developing and implementing brand guidelines and creative standards for large-scale projects.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating successful creative direction and guideline development.
- Expert knowledge of studio photography workflows and best practices in the fashion industry.
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud programs and other standard creative software.
- Excellence in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate creative vision to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with e-commerce creative direction for major retail or fashion brands.
- Background in fashion styling and art direction for diverse product categories.
- Previous work in developing and implementing global creative standards.
- Experience training and mentoring creative teams across multiple locations.
- Familiarity with Client’s's creative processes and e-commerce best practices.
- Strong understanding of data-driven creative optimization for online retail.
- Ability to balance creative excellence with retail objectives and operational efficiency.
Nice to haves:
- 6+ years in Ecommerce, fashion, or editorial experience
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud programs and other standard creative software.
- experience with Art direct
- Strategic brand thinker

- Coming from the fashion world would be ok
- Working with private label companies (ex. Old Navy, Walmart)
Degree/certification: Design in degree
