Title: Pharmacy Technician 2
Location: Sam Houston Pkwy N, Houston TX 77043
Duration: 3 Months (Potential to extend or convert)
Summary: The Pharmacy Technician Fulfillment provides assistance in the preparation and distribution of drug products. The Technician is responsible for preparing the prescription medications via use of the fulfillment system.
Job responsibilties:

Process prescription exceptions which may include: resolving claim rejects and member and physician outreach.

Enter member demographics and prescription information into the data processing system.

Research and resolve rejected insurance billing issues and/or escalated member issues.

Escalate questions regarding prescription to a Pharmacist for interpretation or provide direction on processing.

Assist with inbound and/or outbound patient or physician calls.

Other duties as assigned.

Locate correct medication and strength to complete picking of order.

Prepare, count, label, and package pharmaceuticals for Pharmacist approval.

Purchase, receive and coordinate inventory.

Maintain and update inventory recap report.

Retrieve discontinued or expired medications from stock; discard or return to stock as appropriate; complete corresponding documentation.

Candidate is expected to meet set quality and production metrics.

Closed mail order setting. Candidate will have a unique experience of working with specialty medications including IVIG, Hemophilia, and DME items like pumps.
Education/Experience: High School diploma. 2-4 years of Pharmacy Technician experience. Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as required by state of operation. Basic computer skills.
Required: HS Diploma/GED Preferred: Pharmacy Tech Certification (PTCB)
LICENSURE Required: Pharmacy Tech license with TX state board Preferred: PTCB
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE Required: Minimum 1 year experience as a Pharmacy Technician Preferred: Inventory experience, Specialty pharmacy tech experience
