Schedule: Sunday – Thursday | 3:00 AM – 11:30 AM | Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Hospital experience
Both Peds and Geriatric experience
Perform high-volume venipuncture on inpatient hospital patients using straight and butterfly needles.
Complete approximately 30–50 blood draws per day while maintaining accuracy and patient comfort.
Draw blood from pediatric and geriatric patients, including hard-stick patients.
Conduct morning collection rounds throughout the hospital.
Collect, label, process, centrifuge, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
Verify physician orders and laboratory requisitions for accuracy.
Maintain specimen integrity by following proper handling, storage, and transportation procedures.
Stock phlebotomy supplies and maintain inventory.
Perform front desk duties, including patient registration and documentation as needed.
Accurately update patient information and document specimen collection in the laboratory system.
Utilize Cerner for patient documentation and order management.
Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and all laboratory safety and infection control guidelines.
Perform equipment maintenance and assist with routine quality assurance activities.
Work independently in a fast-paced inpatient hospital environment.
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience (4+ years preferred).
Previous hospital/inpatient phlebotomy experience is required.
Experience performing independent venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.
Experience working with both pediatric and geriatric patients.
Ability to perform 30–50 blood draws daily in a fast-paced environment.
Experience using Cerner or a similar laboratory information system is preferred.
Comfortable working independently and walking throughout the hospital during collection rounds.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
