Pay Rate: $23.50/hr.Duration: 5 6 months (possibility to extend)Location: Belvidere - 100 % onsiteShift: Dupont schedule 28-day rotatingEducation: High School diploma or equivalent.Top 3 Skills: Some Forklift Experience, Chemical manufacturing exp. and or Pharmaceutical, GMP KnowledgeInterview Process: 1530-minute teams screen call, Then - onsite interview with assigned teamRespirator Fit Required***Must be Clean shaven***Position description format:1.General Position informationPosition title:Production Assistant (Derivatives)Business Group/Unit:DSM Nutritional ProductsService Group/Unit:DNP M&T Belvidere2.Position in the organizationReports to:Manager, Production3.Purpose of the positionResponsible for operating blending/packaging/storage tank equipment related to material handling and movements within the production operations in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, Standard Operating Procedures and production schedules. 4.Position contenta) Key areas of accountability/responsibility 1.Operates storage, blending, milling and packaging equipment to prepare and transfer materials to production through to finished goods inventory. Performs a variety of material handling equipment necessary for the safe and efficient movement of raw/in-process materials and finished goods . 2.Complies with GMP,IHQ-7 and ISO regulations and procedures for packaging, handling and storage of incoming, in-process and finished goods, including that which is quarantined, released and expired merchandise.3.Communicates manufacturing process status to Shift Team Lead by informing him/her of any delays, equipment problems, or deviations so that the issues can be addressed4.Documents all production & Packaging activities by completing MPR entries, cleaning records, logbooks, withdrawal sheets and other paperwork to provide an accurate paper trail for every batch. 5.Subdivides and delivers batch ingredients utilizing good manufacturing and safety procedures based on production requirements. Receives and stores raw material as per SOP, loads/unloads trucks in an efficient manner that minimizes material damage. Updates receiving and disbursement records as appropriate.6.Assists in production by working overtime as needed and to cover call-ins or absences as necessary.7.Responsible for knowledge and compliance with DSM Safety Standards relating to the following: Manual material handling, material handling equipment, proper use of personal protective equipment, location and proper use of safety apparatus, knowledge of hazardous materials, emergency response procedures. Recognizes and corrects unsafe practices and unsafe equipment related to the job and area(s) of operation.8.Provides timely physical inventory data. Notifies supervisor and/or reorders materials from central warehouse and/or vendors in accordance with production needs and established guidelines. Maintains clean and safe working conditions. 9.Notes and equipment malfunctions and promptly requests work orders to be issued to return unit to service. Handles full range of packaging requirements including drummed, bagged, or boxed product or materials.10.Completes appropriate forms and documents necessary for proper material accountability and inventory control.11.Maintains housekeeping and orderliness of work area.12.Attends shift and morning PDR meetings.13.SHE Duties & Responsibilities: Displays and promotes positive safety behaviors at all times, use proper personal equipment, appropriate safety tools, equipment and procedures that ensure self and others go home safe each day; that area and equipment operate at the highest safety levels; that all people in the area (maintenance, quality, visitors, contractors, etc.) comply with safety directives and keep area neat and clean.14.All employees to be aware of and follow all DSM Life Saving Rules.15.Ensure all SHE related training is current and up to date.16.Involvement in setting up & reviewing SHE requirements, procedures, and instructions by participating in SHE culture on site.17.Acts in such a way that safety awareness & accident prevention are considered in performing all tasks.18.Shows leadership by working to SHE standards and encouraging employees to work to the same standards.19.Supports plant and corporate initiatives as outlined in the manufacturing plan. Follows the manufex work processes.20.Ensures Quality procedures, Management Directives and Quality improvement projects are supported and followed. 21.Reports any quality deviations or non-conformances observed.22.This position is overtime eligible. The schedule may be structured with a required overtime component built-in. Candidates must be able to work shifts, weekends, overtime (including coverage) and holidays as required. All candidates, both internal an external, applying for this position understand that overtime may be required and adjusted based on business needs and to ensure continued safe operations. b) AuthoritiesWorks independently to complete tasks based on knowledge of materials, procedures and records required for assigned work area. May provide leadership to coordinate completion of tasks, e.g., loading trucks, prioritizing activities to meet the production schedule, storing materials, in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Has the authority to cease operations if there is a perceived quality or SHE related issue..c) Projects/special assignmentsN/A5.Complexity of the position1. Sets own priorities to assure production schedule is maintained with multiple production lines in operation. This requires decisions on which line to focus on and whether loading more material or packaging will take priority and management of movement of materials.2. Performs equipment reliability troubleshooting and minor maintenance.3. Performs inspections and cleaning of equipment to assure product integrity.4. Troubleshoots packaging and dumping operations due to quality issues.6.Knowledge and educational levelHigh School diploma or equivalent.7.Required level of experiences-Entry level position. No experience necessary.-Ability to perform the physical requirements of duties in the assigned work area.-Meticulous recordkeeping housekeeping skills. -Valid unrestricted drivers license.
