Responsibility:
You are part of a team assessing risk for Medicare Supplement and a portfolio of supplemental products including Whole Life, Cancer, and Heart plans. This team interacts with agents and applicants via phone regarding underwriting requirements and underwriting decisions.
Works as a liaison for our Senior underwriting team to resolve inbound and outbound calls related to underwriting decisions, clearly communicating coverage details accurately
Review and assess the applicant's medical history and any available third-party data according to established underwriting criteria.
May call applicants for clarity regarding submitted medical history.
This will include asking additional probing questions related to medical history or prescription usage.
Complete application reviews timely. This will include reviewing applications within established turnaround times to meet service-level targets.
Build and maintain relationships with other members of the new business team and agents that rely on our team for expert-level knowledge
Thorough understanding of the portfolio of product offerings and the different underwriting criteria used to accurately evaluate an enrollment application.
Qualifications:
A High School diploma is required.
1+ years’ prior medical Insurance-related work experience required or 2+ prior healthcare experience
2+ years’ experience demonstrated in customer service
Above average knowledge of medical conditions/prescriptions
Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency using Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
Ability to meet production and quality standards
