Job Description:
  • Our team is expanding and we're looking for an experienced TPM to drive end-to-end display algorithm development, validation, and execution for our AR/Smart Glasses products.
  • As a Display Algorithms TPM, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing workflows that span algorithm development, software implementation, hardware testing, and prototype validation.
  • This TPM will support the technical team in scoping, planning, and delivering validation milestones to ensure display compensation algorithms meet image quality requirements on real hardware.
  • They will work with display hardware engineers, software engineers, product managers, system architects, and subsystem TPMs to strategically manage cross functional programs from development through dogfooding. We are looking for TPMs with a proven track record of delivering complex, multi-workstream technical programs on tight timelines.
  • This role will have the opportunity to work closely with worldclass display, optics, and SW development teams across Client Reality Labs to ship delightful visual experiences in Client's AR/Smart Glasses products.

Must Have Skills:
  • 3+ yrs as a TPM in HW and SW co-development programs
  • 3+ yrs in display tech, image processing, algorithm validation, or electrooptical systems
  • Effective executive communication + XFN experience; comfort with ambiguity and tight timelines

Nice to have Skills:
  • Meta/Big Tech Experience
  • 0-to-1 consumer device programs (prototype → mass production)
  • AR/VR/XR near-eye display architectures

Responsibilities:
  • Validation Roadmap & Milestone Planning: Define and execute end to end validation milestones spanning algorithm model development, hardware testing, prototype SW validation, production SW readiness, and human factors evaluations
  • Cross Functional Execution: Drive alignment and execution across multiple interdependent workstreams—display hardware, testing, software, and architecture—ensuring dependencies are tracked and gaps are closed
  • Hardware & Resource Coordination: Proactively manage hardware allocation and device availability to unblock validation timelines
  • Risk Management & Mitigation: Continuously assess program risks and drive mitigation plans. Maintain a living risk register with clear owners, impacts, and resolution paths
  • Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate engineering team to communicate program status—including milestone readouts, validation results, risk summaries, and decision requests—to engineering leadership and XFN stakeholders through regular reviews and executive summaries

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with Client can be considered to supplement an applicant's prior years of experience or types of prior experience to meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a technical program manager in hardware/software co-development programs.

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading complex, multi-workstream execution across hardware, firmware, and software teams with demonstrated ability to anticipate roadblocks and create a path forward
  • Proven ability to manage programs with significant hardware dependencies, including device allocation, prototype build schedules, and test infrastructure coordination
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data to drive decisions and assess validation readiness
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting technical status and risk assessments to senior engineering leadership
  • Experience operating autonomously in ambiguous, fast-paced development environments with evolving requirements and tight launch timelines

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with display compensation algorithms and related image quality pipelines
  • Familiarity with display technology testing methodologies
  • Experience managing 0to1 consumer device programs from prototype validation through mass production
  • Knowledge of AR/VR/XR display systems, including near eye display architectures and image quality metrics
