Overview The Payroll for the Future (P4TF) program is a strategic, enterprise-wide initiative transforming Org’s global payroll operations and technology infrastructure. The Technology Strategy Workstream is focused on delivering a future-ready, AI-enabled payroll platform — spanning Workday localization, automation, systems rationalization, and integration governance across 40+ countries.
This TPM role supports the Technology & Strategy Workstream within the DET IT Finance & Employee Success (FIN/ES) organization, operating under the Delivery Assurance & Operations pillar and working in close partnership with our internal IT delivery team, Product Management, and Engineering.
Key Responsibilities Program & Workstream Delivery
Support day-to-day execution of the PFTF Technology Strategy Workstream, including Workday localization, automation priorities, and systems rationalization activities
Track and maintain program health, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across multiple concurrent work tracks
Manage and maintain GUS (internal Agile tracking) epics, stories, and project-level health status; ensure updates are completed per program cadence (weekly by Wednesday 8:30am CST)
Maintain Smartsheet program tracking in alignment with program standards; as required
Facilitate and participate in recurring program cadences including Daily IT Standups, Weekly Cross-Team meetings, Tech Strategy/Change Management syncs, and any additional required cadences yet to be scheduled.
Risk, Issue & Dependency Management (RAID)
Proactively identify, track, and escalate risks, issues, actions, and dependencies (RAID) across the workstream
Maintain RAID log in GUS; escalate critical path issues impacting planning deadlines to program leads
Apply baseline change management practices to protect team capacity and proactively communicate roadblocks to leadership
Requirements & Documentation
Support documentation and control frameworks as required
Work with Product to support action items throughout discovery
Drive process adherence and sign-offs
Future State Design & Quality Assurance
Facilitate future-state payroll process design sessions with cross-functional stakeholders
Ensure defined service level agreements are in place and operational metrics are trackable
Support end-to-end testing activities including UAT coordination across integrations and systems
Contribute to quality and governance standards across the workstream
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Build strong working relationships with internal TPMs, Product Owners, Engineering Managers, Policy leads, and Change Management teams
Support preparation of executive-ready status updates, SteerCo readouts, and program-level communications.
Operate as a trusted delivery partner; surface observations, risks, and recommendations clearly and constructively
Required Qualifications
5+ years of Technical Program Management experience in large-scale enterprise IT programs
Program Management: Senior Director, Portfolio Management
Policy Workstream Lead: Program Lead, Policy
Change & Enablement: Manager, Change & Enablement
IT TPM Delivery Lead: Technical Program Manager, Senior Manager
Success Criteria:
RAID items tracked and updated on cadence with no critical items falling through the gaps
GUS project health reflects accurate, up-to-date status weekly.
Workstream deliverables (requirements, documentation, process designs) completed on schedule and to quality standards.
Proactive escalation of risks and blockers; no surprises for program leadership.
Strong cross-functional working relationships established within 30 days of engagement.
