Job Title: Technical Product Manager Sr

Duration: 06 Months
Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid 3 days a week)
 
  • Overview: The Technical Product Manager is responsible for the retail hardware point of sale and its supporting peripherals- from device selection, integration, and implementation of retail software and hardware. The Technical Product Manager owns the retail hardware roadmap, vendor relations, specializes in analyzing system specifications, configuring hardware and software solutions, and supporting hands-on retail installations.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong technical product management background in retail hardware and technologies, experience in hardware lifecycle management, and have strong planning and communication skills.

Daily Responsibilities:
  • Product Definition and Value
  • Responsible for determining hardware business needs, problem solving, and proposing technical solutions.
  • Align with multiple business partners to balance business and technical objectives and manifest as clear priorities for the working team.
  • Manage a technical product portfolio through day-to-day collaboration and decision making with cross-functional teams.
  • Define product health and performance metrics
 
Technical Hardware Implementation
  • Design and implement complex retail systems that integrate both hardware and software components to meet business requirements.
  • Track hardware roadmaps with internal and external teams to ensure a smooth transition when hardware goes end of sale/end of life.
  • Line of sight and understanding of retail store operations and how retail hardware and software solutions impact barista and customer experience.
  • Evaluate existing systems to determine effectiveness and suggest changes to meet organizational requirements.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement and quality of services and products.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure integration solutions are current and functional.
 
Communication and Collaboration
  • Cross-functional collaboration across different organizations to ensure hardware selection is aligned across software and operational requirements.
  • Interacts directly with business stakeholders to understand business problems
  • Presents recommendations clearly and persuasively to support stakeholder decision making

Required Background Skills:
Qualifications:
  • Must have: Technical Product Management experience & Retail Hardware background
  • Preferred:  Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager, Systems Integration Engineer, or similar role.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong understanding of complex hardware and software systems.
  • Experience with various operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and UNIX.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
