Title: Tax Reporting Specialist Location : REMOTE Duration: 14 months (looking to keep thru June 2027)
Schedule: • Contract to Hire • Days: Mon- Fri • Hours: 8AM - 5PM Eastern Standard Time • No OT
Degrees or certifications required/Years of overall experience required: • High School diploma/GED equivalent or higher and a minimum of 4 years multi-state/local tax and 1 year customer service experience. • - {OR} Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or Business Management and a minimum of 4 years multi-state/local tax and 1 year customer service experience
Top must-have skills: • Peoplesoft Payroll Tax • ADP Master Tax • Advanced Level Excel (Must know how to do V-Look Ups and Pivot Tables) • Knowledge of Tax law and Accounting Principles • Attention to Detail • Strong critical thinking abilities • Proficiency in conducting tax research • Recognize process improvement- when needed • Excellent interpersonal communication • Skills in mentoring • Productive and efficient • Excellent Time Managment • Quick adapter
Responsibilities: • Files and reconciles the most complex payroll tax returns: Federal, State, SUI-State Unemployment Insurance, Local and FUTA (Federal Unemployment Tax Act) • Must have 5yrs exp paying and filing these items • Researches payroll/tax system issues and provides recommendations to manager. • Training and mentoring co-workers • Will be involved with W-2 process • Recommends process improvements/procedures to manager and leads the implementation of approved process changes. • Researches and review payroll tax regulation changes for impact.
Will the contractor be working independently or will they be collaborating with team members and/or a manager to complete tasks? • The Tax team and customers (internal business units)
