Position Title: Supplier Diversity Consultant Work Location: 100% Remote anywhere in the US Assignment Duration: 6 Months Work Schedule: Part-time and flexible based on Supplier Development Program needs. Hours are subject to change on a weekly basis. Specifically, 0.75 hours per day, 3 hours per week, 4 days per week.
Position Summary:
The Supplier Diversity Consultant will provide strategic and consultative support to The Organization’s Supplier Diversity and Supplier Development initiatives.
This role is responsible for advising on regulatory compliance, supplier diversity reporting, program development, and stakeholder engagement to strengthen and expand the organization’s supplier diversity objectives.
The consultant should be a subject matter expert on Small Business Subcontracting Plan (SBSP) reporting requirements as it relates to U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide consultative support on supplier diversity initiatives, including:
Annual government reporting related to small business categories (e.g., small business, veteran-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned, HUBZone, small disadvantaged, and women-owned businesses)
Review, support, and advise on Small Business Subcontracting Plans, as applicable
Respond to internal inquiries related to:
Supplier development compliance
Spend tracking and reporting
Program structure and development
Develop and refine Supplier Development Program strategies
Provide guidance on tools, systems, and processes to enhance supplier development and qualifying small business tracking and execution
Partner with internal stakeholders to build alignment and support for supplier diversity initiatives
Mentor and provide guidance to The Organization’s Sustainability Manager and other designated personnel
Support continuous improvement efforts related to supplier development programs
Qualification & Experience:
Experience in supplier development, or procurement compliance
Knowledge of U.S. government reporting requirements for small and diverse businesses
Familiarity with small business subcontracting plans and regulatory compliance standards
Strong analytical and advisory skills related to spend tracking and program development
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with federal contractor requirements (e.g., FAR/DFARS)
Background in sustainability, ESG, or responsible sourcing initiatives
Prior experience mentoring or coaching team members
