  • Data Analytics Engineer to Support Commercial Data Store Team with Salty Shelf Analytics/Reporting
 
Job Description:
  • This role is responsible for completing the data visualization tasks necessary for the Salty Category Shelf Analytics in-house capability. This work will be completed in partnership with the existing team working on the existing Candy Mints and Gum (CMG) tool. This role will sit within the existing IS team working within the Agile software development lifecycle workstreams. This role is focused on standing up Salty in-house capabilities centered on co-developing the design for the Performance/Space Analytics dashboards, in partnership with the Business lead. This role will require an understanding of the business needs and partnership with a data engineer, who will support this role by developing data models to meet visualization & reporting needs. This will include the documentation of the process. The individual will work closely with U.S. Commercial functions – Category Management and IS partners. This role will also partner closely with Cleint’s Enterprise Data team to ensure projects are aligned with Client data & technology strategies.
 
What You’ll Do:
  • Maintain and optimize the multi-year strategic vision for Client’s space analytical platform
  • Refine the plan to account for changes in the long-term business strategy and new technological capabilities
  • Validate prioritization of enhancements are prioritized in alignment with business objectives
  • Identify solutions to address analytical gaps by working cross-functionally with groups such as Information Services (IS) including data architects and data scientists
  • Become the subject matter expert on the current toolset along with marketplace capabilities within this space
  • Troubleshoot issues with space analytic tools to ensure data is accurate and complete; maintain records of nuances with the data
  • Support peers with analytics to help influence the future of the category, including space acquisitions, fixture innovations, feature implementations, merchandising standards and beyond
  • Data mine Client’s data platforms to uncover new insights and answer business questions; present findings back to peers and leadership to drive business decisions
  • Influence internal clients decision-making and planning based on insights derived from working with peers and datamining
  • Partner with IS to optimize ways to mine the data for insights and support team members with data extracts from Client’s platforms
  • Create and maintain models to help influence optimal assortment, flow, location, etc.
  • Build and optimize clustering in alignment with customer strategies
  • Synthesize actionable insights using multiple data sources – Syndicated, customer, space etc.
  • Leverage analytical tools such as Space Planning (JDA/Blue Yonder), Alteryx, Tableau, and more
  • Question the status-quo and continually challenge yourself and the team with what is possible; develop test and learn opportunities to identify new ways to grow sales for the candy category
 
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
  • Intellectual Curiosity
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Prior experience working with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • Prior experience working with data manipulation tools such as Alteryx
  • Strong knowledge of relational, dimensional, and semantic data modeling.
  • Proficiency in methodologies such as star schema, snowflake schema, and semantic models.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with relational/non-relational databases, e.g., Databricks, Snowflake.
  • 3+ years of developing and maintaining the data modeling and reporting ecosystem, ensuring service level agreements and data quality.
  • Experience working in a high-performing agile delivery model, aligning with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other execution team members to deliver rapid and impactful solutions that align with business stakeholders' strategy.
  • Experience with coding languages such as Python, R, SQL
  • Foundational knowledge in statistical modeling
  • Project Management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, including with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to distill insights from data and explain key takeaways
  • 3-5 years of experience in data analytics and analysis
  • Prior Category Management. Planogram and/or CPG Sales experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
