Job Title: Sr. Project Manager (Data Center Migration) Location: Fountain Valley, CA (Onsite) Duration: 6 months
Description: Mission-critical project of relocating our equipment from one location to another within the same data center (a colocation facility). At a high level, we need someone who can PM these phases:
Architecture of data center related items (electrical, cabs, WAN circuits, UPS/PDU, etc.)
Architecture of network equipment (router, switch, firewall, server etc.)
Installation of data center requirements for new locations
Installation of network equipment & WAN circuits
Migration to network equipment & WAN circuits
Migration of several hundred applications to new environment (the most time consuming aspect of this project)
Breakdown of environment
The data center is located in El Segundo and is our Primary DC, with many redundant WAN circuits going to various MHS campuses. Needless to say, this is a highly visible, sensitive and time driven endeavor - one that needs to be pulled off seamlessly. We have all the necessary SMEs (MHS staff, vendors, etc), we just need a PM who has done this type of major effort before, as the experience and understanding of what needs to be done is critical for success.
