Job Description

Role: Software Engineer
Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Hybrid, 3+days/week, Tues-Thurs)
Duration: 7 months

HM Notes: 

• Object-oriented programming (Python preferred, .NET knowledge beneficial)
• Cloud understanding (Azure preferred)
• Kubernetes expertise
• API and backend development knowledge (especially in .NET)
• The role involves building tools for migrating from Azure DevOps to GitHub
• The contractor will join the on-call rotation after training
• Experience in building internal tools for engineers
• Infrastructure software engineering experience is beneficial
• Ability to learn quickly, Problem-solving skills
• Flexibility and willingness to take on various tasks
• Keen on solving problems and identifying issues
 
Job Description
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will develop and operate mission critical services and applications that are used customers and employees worldwide.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the technical design, implementation, and deployment of software solutions
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, ensuring that projects are successfully executed meeting LinkedIn’s standards for quality software engineering
  • Design and ship high volume of elegant code with foresight to avoid performance, scalability, usability, maintainability, availability and testability issues.
  • Maintain understanding of latest technologies and tools and leverage them to improve existing products and services.
  • Identify opportunities within the team for potential leverage and reuse by developing libraries, APIs, and shared services
  • Assist in the onboarding and ramp-up of new engineers
  • Contribute towards the definition of product and technical roadmaps
 Basic Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 4+ years of software engineering experience
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven track record of developing large-scale highly available services and systems in either Java or Python or C#/.net.
  • Working experience in the development as well as consumption of Web Services APIs (JSON / XML / RPC)
  • Working experience of build systems, databases, and Linux-based infrastructures
  • Demonstrated understanding of Computer Science fundamentals
  • Demonstrated understanding of architectural models and technology stack used for developing highly scalable and highly available web applications and systems
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of Agile Software Development methodologies
