Job Title: Software Engineer (L3 and L4) Duration: 06 months (Possible extension) Location: Remote (US-based) Team & Project Overview:
Focus: Building the Horizon TV app (media aggregation platform).
Hiring includes multiple contractor roles (CW positions) - Open Roles: Full Stack Developer
Preferred experience: 5+ years
Approximate split: 50/50 frontend/backend (flexible based on candidate)
Backend Engineers
Levels: L3 and L4
Senior (L4) role requires CDN experience (must-have)
Key Requirements: Backend Roles:
Strong coding fundamentals (baseline requirement)
Video domain experience (e.g., encoding, delivery systems)
Experience with at least one cloud platform:
AWS (preferred)
OR GCP / Azure acceptable
Senior Backend (L4):
CDN experience is required
Candidates without CDN experience are unlikely to be considered
Notes:
For the Level 3 full stack role, is this primarily a frontend role with some backend exposure, or a true 50/50 full stack position. We can target the 5050, split, but the actual job/project, there might be some flexibility. Depending on the candidate and their tenure they can shift a little bit based on their performance.
Out of mentioned programming languages for backend role, which would be top preference? Generic - video domain experience, video, AWS experience PCP or azure - as long cloud experience.
How important is prior video/media or streaming experience? Is it a must-have or something we can compromise on for strong engineers? No compromise, need video/media or streaming services.
For the Software Engineer IV role, how critical is CDN experience? Would strong backend engineers without CDN will not be considered (must have)
What depth of AWS experience is required for backend roles? Also, are other cloud platforms acceptable in place of AWS? AWS (Must have)
