Title: Software Engineer III Duration: 10 months (Temp-to-Hire) Location: San Diego, CA 100% Onsite (Monday-Friday)
Description: Job Summary Design, develop and test software on multiple instrumentation platforms (Panther System, Panther Fusion System) and a menu of assays (Aptima STIs, Aptima Virology, Panther Fusion Respiratory) for our automated molecular diagnostic instruments
Skills: • Software planning involving work breakdown and sprint planning • Software requirements and specification definition • Software design and development • Enhance existing code through refactoring • Code Review • Unit and acceptance testing • Root cause analysis and defect resolution • Documentation
Education: • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and test software for automated molecular diagnostic instruments. • Support Panther System and Panther Fusion System software platforms. • Participate in sprint planning and software work breakdown activities. • Develop software requirements and specifications. • Enhance existing applications through refactoring. • Perform code reviews. • Conduct unit and acceptance testing. • Perform root cause analysis and defect resolution. • Create and maintain technical documentation.
Required Skills (Must Have) • C# • .NET • SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
Additional Requirements: • Software development experience. • Object-oriented programming experience. • Experience working within structured development environments. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) • 3-5 years of software development experience. • WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation). • AI knowledge/exposure. • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar. • Agile/Scrum experience.
Interview Process: Step 1: Engineering Phone Screen with Possible Technical Assessment Step 2: Onsite Panel Interview / 4-5 Engineers Individual interview sessions / Approximately 30-45 minutes each
