Job Title: Software Development Engineer Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid 3 days onsite) Duration: 11 Months Description: Contractor will be primarily working on taking on system maintenance and infrastructure management work throughout the teams in the organization. This work include upgrading systems that run on java to JDK 17 and migrating systems to new AWS infrastructure and different AWS regions. The contractor will also take on internal wide upgrade mandates involving credential distribution mechanism, authorization/authentication, and configuration storage.
Day to day:
Independently working on assigned project
Collaborate with media team members to coordinate work
Following up with team leads and project managers
Debug issues and troubleshooting
Deep dive to build and services logs
Attend daily status sync up meetings
Participate in scrum process
Required skillset
2+ years working in a software development team setting
2+ years of experience with Java and Spring dependency injection (DI) framework
2+ years handling dependency resolution using tools such as Maven
2+ years debugging failures during build time, deployment time by reading and searching logs
2+ years unit testing, integration testing, and manual testing
1+ year experience with code repository such as git repo
Basic understanding of AWS IAM roles/permission
Basic understanding of networking and server concepts (Load Balancers, request routing, web sockets, REST/SOAP, API)
Nice to Have
basic understanding of core AWS as a previous employee
Degree: Computer Science or relative degree, 2 – 5 years of experience
Best: Experience in owning and building applications end to end, also able to maintain and debug production systems, understand infrastructure and hardware needed to maintain, works well with team but also can take projects independently, can take feedback and willing to learn
