Job Description

Job Title: Software Developer
Duration: 12 Months 
Location: Columbia, SC (Partially onsite - onsite 2 days per week)
C2 clearance is required (Must be a US citizen) 

Required Technologies:

REST & SOAP API experience
Java & JavaScript development

Preferred/Nice-to-Have Technologies:
DataPower and/or AWS Gateway configuration experience
OpenAPI/Swagger experience

Team and Environment:
  • The LEDS team focuses on real-time data integration across the enterprise, internally and externally.
  • Provides design, development, configuration, and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Uses APIs/Web Services (REST & SOAP) leveraging Java and JavaScript on IBM WebSphere, Node.JS, and IBM APIC.
  • Experience with HostBridge API development for mainframes is a plus, but not required.
  • Regularly utilizes technologies and tools such as IBM ITX, OpenShift, OpenAPI, Swagger, IBM MQ, DB2, MongoDB, SQL, GitHub, Jenkins, BlackDuck, SonarQube, and Urban Code.
  • Understanding of security concepts like Certificates, Tokens, Keys, Secrets, SOO, and SAML is beneficial.
  • Fast-paced team environment with a focus on ensuring effective communication and data flow critical to the enterprise’s success.

Job Description:
  • Perform all phases of applications systems analysis and design. Analyze systems specifications and develop applications to support information systems processes. Prepare detailed specifications from which complex programs will be written.
  • Design, code, test, debug, document and maintain these programs. Formulates scope and objectives through research to develop or modify complex systems.
  • Ensure team members understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions, organizational standards are maintained, and applications are delivered according to project timeliness. Provide expert system knowledge, perform research, attend meetings, and review documents.
  • Maintain and modify programs according to specifications. Code, compile, and implement application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Evaluate basic interrelationships in immediate programming area to determine how changes in one program will affect another related area.
  • Test modified programs, create necessary test files and data, verify logic, debug, and write relevant documentation.
  • Analyze production systems, recommend systems enhancements, provide instruction to production support team. Research customer issues and determine appropriate resolutions. Coordinate implementation of modifications or enhancements.
  • Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems. Develop functional design and technical specifications, concept diagrams, and work flow diagrams and related procedures to process data using appropriate systems environment/platform. Document programs/procedures.
Minimum Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of applications/development, quality assurance and integration methodologies, concepts and facilities in a mainframe, midrange, and/or PC/LAN environment.
  • Strong analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates logical abstract thinking and assimilating/adhering to project goals and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of interpersonal skills/team building.
  • Familiar with project management concepts.
  • Pays attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, vendors etc.

Minimum Required Software and Other Tools: Strong knowledge of relevant operating systems, programming languages, and development tools and their usage in the company.
Work Environment: Customer-focused, project-oriented programming environment. Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree-in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree.
Degree Equivalency: 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree
Minimum Required Work Experience: 4 years-of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience.
