Job Title: Software Dev Engineer Test II Location: Bellevue, WA (Hybrid - 3 days in-office) Duration: 11 months
Job Description: Client's Delivery Experience (DEX) team is looking for a talented Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our mission-critical product team, which directly impacts millions of customers worldwide by enhancing the shopping experience on the client’s retail website. This role involves backend development and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), working to improve the customer experience with cutting-edge technical solutions. You will join a QA team composed of both Quality Assurance Engineers (QAEs) and SDETs. This team supports testing new features, applications, and services, with SDETs focused on automation to scale testing efforts and reduce manual testing.
Key responsibilities:
Building frameworks and onboarding services to client’s proprietary frameworks.
Solving problems related to test data.
Working with AWS, Lambda Functions, and other platforms to support internal testing tools and ensure operational excellence.
Key Projects:
Improving the current testing pipeline by switching to a more reliable framework.
Building a tool to address test data problems across the DEX organization using AWS, Native, and Lambda Functions.
Typical Day:
Interaction level: Collaborate closely with other SDETs, SDEs, and QA teams.
Tasks: Build automation frameworks, solve test data issues, ensure code quality via code reviews, and contribute to operational excellence.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Java (required).
Experience with AWS and Native services.
Familiarity with automation using Python or JavaScript for smaller tasks.
Degree/Certifications: Java certifications (11 or 17) are a plus, but not required. A degree is not mandatory if the candidate has the relevant experience.
Performance Indicators: Ability to break complex problems into manageable parts, handle context-switching between projects, and solve problems efficiently.
Top 3 Must-Have Skills:
AWS / Native experience.
Strong Java programming skills.
3-4+ years of relevant experience.
