Job Title: Server Analyst - Intermediate
Project Name: IT Security Administration
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Edmonton, Alberta (Remote)
Onsite Frequency of meeting could be up to 3-4 times per month.


Reporting to the Domain Access Management Lead within the Infrastructure and Service Management branch, this contracted resource shall be responsible for day-to-day operations within the clients centralized Windows Active Directory (ADS). This includes object creation and maintenance, maintenance of user access to network resources, file permissions and security, reporting, development and modifying of administrative guidelines and processes, etc.

The Domain Access Management Team is responsible for the administration of M365 email resources such as mailboxes, distribution groups, and related services. The resource may also be responsible to provide technical support and solutions for ministries' data and resources on the clients Domain. This includes providing training, support and overseeing other Domain Access Administration Team members' activities, participation in ministry and internal projects, attend project meetings and work with the Client and external ministry technical teams. Delegation of administrative authority to ministries is done by this team.

The Domain Access Management Team defines the guidelines used by the various organization unit administrators in each Ministry. The latter can grant access to users within their ministries, and must ensure new or unusual requirements are reviewed by the Domain Access Management Team Lead. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), and a proven ability to function on an individual basis and in a team/group environment are required.

NOTE: Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Duties:
• Adhere to existing Client established policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and practices.
• User account (ID) creations, maintenance and deletions for access to network resources.
• Maintenance of Exchange email resources such as mailboxes, distribution groups, Global Address List updates and related services.
• Implement and maintain user security and folder permissions.
• Provide adhoc reporting of same.
• Manage security group membership to provide access to files and folders for network applications and shared data.
• File and folder moves, restructuring and permission setting.
• Respond and resolve customer incidents/service requests pertaining to Domain and Exchange administration.
• Some project work as required.
• Development and modification of domain and exchange administration documentation, processes and guidelines.
• Assist in active directory clean up as necessary.

Equipment requirements:
• It is preferred if resource has their own equipment, though client will provide laptop/desktop if necessary.

In the event that the Contractor’s resources are directed to work remotely, the Contractor shall be responsible for providing all of its equipment, including computers, software, printers, supplies, desks and chairs. However, the Province shall ensure that the Contractor’s resources have the necessary access and credentials to the Government of Alberta’s system.

In the event that, the Contractor’s resources are directed to work in-person, the Province shall provide the requisite office space, furniture and office supplies. However, the Contractor shall continue to be responsible for providing computers and software and the Province shall continue to ensure that the Contractor’s resources have the necessary access and credentials to the Government of Alberta’s system.

Working Hours:
• Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the Province
• Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security issues.
• It is anticipated the role will be 100% remote, however in the event of an onsite meeting, the client does not pay for travel to attend on-site meetings, nor any expenses related to relocation, commuting, housing/accommodation, food/drink.

Notes on Location:
Resource will work remotely, though must be available for onsite meetings when required.

Onsite meetings include but are not limited to strategic, architectural, and technical discussions, meeting with team members, senior managers, directors, executive directors and business clients. Frequency of meeting could be up to 3-4 times per month.

Mandatory Training Courses:
• Once hired the resource will be required to complete all mandatory training which includes but not limited to Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Security awareness training. There may also be some optional courses as well.
